Parent support and informational meetings
Informal and informative get-together for parents to discuss what is happening in our neighborhoods, around our schools
and with our kids.
"The better we, as parents, are informed the better we
can help our kids to make good choices."
Officer Britton from the high
school will be there to answer questions at this meeting.
THE SECOND Monday OF EVERY MONTH
Beginning August 2009
6pm
at the
Lake Stevens
High School Office
Mark your
calendars.
Organized by community parents Shannon S. and Barb Johnston and co-facilitated by Officer Britton of the Lake Stevens Police Department and Lake Stevens High School; this meeting is very informal, open to all parents and welcomes open, candid and confidential discussion, questions and support.
Fellow community parents would
like to hear your areas of concern and then brainstorm on speakers we may
want to invite in the future to cover those areas.
Come with questions,
concerns, be a part of a lot of good discussion or just come to listen.
Past, Present and Future Topics include:
- What to do if you suspect a house in your
neighborhood is selling drugs.
- What drugs are being used these days.
- Things to look for in your childs room that
might say they are using.
- Barn Parties happen around here and they are not
what you think. Kids bring different pills (over the counter,
prescription pills - things found in your medicine cabinet), they all go in
a bowl and then they take what they get (not just one). I have also
heard them called Farm Parties (or PHARM parties).
If you have questions please
contact the Family Center at 425-397-7433 or Officer Britton at Lake Stevens High School for additional information.
